Community Service Projects

This “Avenue” relates to the activities that Rotarians undertake to improve the quality of life in their community. Particular emphasis is given to helping children, needy families, the aged, the handicapped, and those most in need of assistance. Rotarians strive to promote the ideal of service in their personal, business, and community lives.

Shabnam Miglani

International Service

In this area, Rotarians strive for the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service. International Service Projects are designed to meet the humanitarian needs of people in many lands, with particular emphasis on the most underprivileged children and families in developing countries.

Craig Schniepp

Youth Services

Youth Service promotes and supports the club’s youth education and leadership programs. The centerpiece of our effort is the Interact Club at La Jolla High school, a community service club open to all students. The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program, coordinated with the district’s annual conference, sends promising students to a weekend camp at Idyllwild. Other activities include support for Rotary Youth International Exchange, enlistment of youth into many of our Club Service activities and an active committed relationship with La Jolla area schools

Miranda Wilson

Membership Service

Membership Service is responsible for maintaining a strong and healthy club. Every new Rotarian brings a range of personal and professional resources and knowledge that can greatly strengthen our Club’s ability to serve throughout the community and the world. The continuation of Rotary International depends on continued membership growth and development efforts. Club 24 is composed of new members inducted within the last 24 months.

Will Creekmur

International Foundation Service (Paul Harris Foundation)

International Foundation Services serves as our representative to the Rotary International Foundation, which promotes and supports humanitarian and educational projects throughout the world. Our Rotary Foundation committee encourages each Rotarian to directly participate in and/or provide financial support to one or more many worthwhile projects. The committee helps acknowledge that real reward comes through the personal satisfaction gained by helping to fulfill the mission of Rotary.
